At BhaMa Foundation, we believe that the most enduring path to development is through enterprise-led growth. Enterprises whether micro, small or community-based are the engines of sustainable economic transformation. Our focus is to strengthen and support these enterprises by building on the existing skills, resources, and aspirations of the entrepreneurs we work with. We aim to not only enhance their livelihood opportunities but also create models that foster inclusive and resilient local economies.

Our approach begins with understanding the ground realities - the strengths, resources, and traditional practices that already exist within a community. Instead of imposing external solutions, we identify ways to support current livelihood practices or design new enterprises that align with local capacities and market potential. This ensures that every initiative is rooted in the community’s context and has a higher chance of long-term success.

At BhaMa Foundation, we take pride in our handholding approach. We work closely with entrepreneurs throughout their entire journey from the conceptual stage of an idea, through business planning, financial literacy, and skill enhancement, to establishing market linkages and growth strategies. This comprehensive support system enables entrepreneurs to navigate challenges, adapt to market changes, and gradually evolve from subsistence earners to sustainable enterprise owners.

Our Enterprise Development Model combines field engagement, technical guidance, and continuous learning. Entrepreneurs receive support through training sessions, workshops, and access to networks that help them improve product quality, market outreach, and adopt innovative practices. We also facilitate collaborations between producers, aggregators, and market actors to strengthen the entire value chain. By creating connections between rural producers and urban markets, we help bridge the gap between potential and profitability.

The outcomes of our enterprise development initiatives are multi-dimensional and impactful. First, we contribute to accelerated local GDP growth by promoting micro and small enterprises that create employment and stimulate economic circulation within communities. Second, we ensure value addition helping enterprises move up the value chain through better production processes, packaging, branding, and digital visibility. Third, our approach leads to inclusive development, empowering communities to become active participants in economic progress.

What makes our model distinct is that it is scalable, replicable, and sustainable. By using a participatory framework and focusing on capacity-building, we create interventions that can be adapted across different geographies and sectors. Our Stakeholders

We work across a broad spectrum of entrepreneurs which includes Self Help Groups (SHGs) that focus on building financial independence, mutual support, and micro-enterprise opportunities. We, also, engage with Farmer Producer Groups (FPGs) that seek better access to resources, knowledge, and markets to strengthen agricultural livelihoods.

Alongside them, we support Producer Companies, which aim to scale collective enterprises, enhance efficiency, and compete in larger markets. By tailoring our support to their distinct needs, we ensure every group is empowered to grow sustainably while contributing to stronger rural economies.

Where We Work?

We work across tribal, rural, and semi-urban geographies, often in remote or hard-to-reach areas. Many of these communities’ face challenges of distance and connectivity.

By focusing on such regions, we aim to help producers aggregate their goods, cluster enterprises, and access better markets and pricing opportunities.
